At Factory Direct Homes, we offer a large number of standard floor plans from 2 great manufacturers of modular homes. Each of these floor plans include a wide array of standard features, and you can also choose from a large number of options to customize your manufactured home. Because we build it to your order, you can specify all of the options like flooring, cabinetry, colors, fixtures, finishes and just about anything else you can think of. But, this is only the "standard" customization of a manufactured home. Let's say that you find a floor plan you like, but you would like to revise it a little by moving some walls or expanding the size, or adding custom archways or other special features. Again, that is NO PROBLEM. We can customize any manufactured home floor plan to adjust the layout to meet your specific needs. We can also design external features like an attached garage, extra large porch or other elements you may need.
But let's say you have some very specific idea about your dream house. You could spend a fortune to hire an architect and a contractor and build that house from the ground up. IF you are very lucky and everything goes perfectly, that process usually takes at least a year to complete. But what if you want to move in to your dream house sooner??
Today's manufactured homes are actually better built than most stick framed construction, and we could almost guarantee you that our quality and accuracy will exceed that of any tract homes where contractors may be paid on piece work to bang things out as fast as possible. We will work with you to create drawings of a modular home design that is exactly built to your specific needs and desires. This design from scratch process does have some extra cost compared to buying a standard floor plan with customization, but you are still likely to save at least 40% compared to a stick-built home, AND we are able to complete the entire home much faster. In a few months you could be getting moved in, instead of just getting started as on a typical home construction.
